My dad loves pecan pie. Over the years, I have tried many different recipes to find the perfect one. This is a classic pecan pie with recipe from Cooks’ Illustrated:
Compared to all the other “classic” recipes, this one is pretty good. The key to a good pecan pie is the filling – the right balance of corn syrup and brown sugar can make the pie really melt in your mouth.
There are also many variations to the classic pecan pie. My favorite variations are:
1) Tyler Florence’s chocolate and bourbon pecan pie: http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/tyler-florence/bourbon-and-chocolate-pecan-pie-recipe.html
2) Ina Garten’s Maple pecan pie: http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/ina-garten/maple-pecan-pie-recipe.html
Too lazy to make a pie? Sometimes, it’s just easier to buy one. My favorite pecan confection is the pecan tart by La Boulange via Starbucks. It’s delish.
