An institution on the East Coast, the acclaimed burger chain Five Guys made it to the West Coast and into my neighborhood a few years ago. Recently, I took my mom there for lunch and it always hits the spot!
Walking in, you are greeted by a box of peanuts to eat as you wish. Perfectly roasted and salted, this is a great snack to munch on as you wait for your burger and fries.
A regular burger has 2 patties and a little burger only has one. You can choose with cheese or bacon or both. Each burger is made to order with your choice of toppings.
Their toppings include lettuce, tomato, pickles, grilled onions, grilled mushrooms, mayo, ketchup, mustard, and relish. You can choose one, or some or all – getting them all means you want your burger “all the way”! Other options you can have are regular onions, jalapeno peppers, green peppers, A1 steak sauce, BBQ sauce, or hot sauce. And they are all free! So, no extra charge for your burger to be just the way you like it!
I like mine “all the way” with bacon!
What I appreciate most about Five Guys is their use of fresh ingredients. See how the patty is real meat and not processed? You can taste the difference too!
The buns are each toasted and the fries are fresh cut! This was a regular order of fries – a full cup and with an extra scoop in the bag, there is more than enough to go around!
So, if your craving a burger but don’t want the fast food processed stuff, head over to Five Guys – they are popping up all over!!
