The 2015 season at the Cal Shakes Theatre in Orinda, California, started with this fresh interpretation of William Shakespeare’s “Twelfth Night”. Performed almost entirely by a female cast, it was great twist from the all male cast used when it was first created. The dress was in renaissance but there were hints of modern times throughout – with bits of music by The Doors and the use of smart phones to take selfies, it was all very creative. The set was simple, with a single black casket used in multiple ways as a prop throughout. Directed by Christopher Liam Moore, this is a production that will not disappoint and keep you laughing to the very end.
