One of my favorite stands at any Bay Area food truck arena is Cholita Linda.
I am a huge fan of their baja fish tacos and carnitas tacos. So fresh and delicious. The fish are fried to order – hot and crispy next to their cabbage slaw and delicious crema. The crema and slaw is also used on their carnitas tacos, which I appreciate because it is so yummy and light next to the flavorful meats.
Besides their truck, they have a storefront in the Temescal area of Oakland, California. Yeah – a place to sit down and eat at leisure as opposed to finding a spot near the trucks to eat my tacos!
The Aguas Frescas are delcious here. In the picture above, we got their Mango Passion Fruit and Strawberry Lime frescas off their truck. Here is their Blackberry Lime fresca from the restaurant.
Besides tacos, they have a great selection of hot sandwiches to choose from at the restaurant. Like their “Papito” sandwich with steak, plantains, caramelized onions, organic arugula, aioli and Swiss cheese on grilled French bread.
And their Cubano: pulled pork shoulder, black forest ham, mustard, pickles, aioli and Swiss cheese on grilled French bread
Besides sandwiches and tacos, they’ve got salads and lots of sides to choose from. All yummy reasons to keep coming back. The hostess and wait staff could use some better manners or lessons in hospitality, but that can be learned.
